Sojitz Corporation, a trading company, has its roots in some of the key contributors, Nichimen Corporation and Nissho Iwai Corporation, in Japan's modernization. In the aviation sector, Sojitz has played a significant role in shaping Japanese history. It began with an agency agreement with Boeing in 1956 and has since expanded its business to serve aircraft manufactures, parts suppliers, airlines and airports.

Building on this strong foundation, Sojitz initiated Purchases and Sales consulting services in 2002, ventured into Aircraft Management in 2005, and established Phenix Jet Group to manage US-registered aircraft in 2017. In 2018, Sojitz expanded its charter business through a partnership with ANA Holdings. By obtaining a second air operator certificate (Cayman Islands) in 2020, Sojitz significantly increased its operational flexibility. In 2022, Sojitz strategically invested in Japcon, entering the domestic Aircraft Management market.

Phenix Jet

Established Phenix Jet Group, specializing the management of US-registered aircraft.

2018

Established ANA Business jet in collaboration with ANA Holding, bolstering the charter business.

2020

Expanded Phenix Jet Group’s services to include the management of Cayman-registered aircraft through the acquisition of the Cayman air operator certificate.

2022

JAPCON

Wholly acquired Japcon, marking entry into the domestic aircraft management market ; Phenix Jet became the leading company in Asia for the number of Asia-based charter aircraft managed.

2023

Expanded Phenix Jet group’s presence into Southeast Asia with the opening of a branch in Singapore, complementing existing bases in Tokyo, Guam, and Hong Kong.
