Phenix Jet Group, a subsidiary of Sojitz Corporation, a Japanese trading company, has begun offering business jet charter services for Cayman Island registered aircraft to meet diversifying client needs.
In Asia, there is a rising demand for Cayman Island registered business jets. To provide charter services for Cayman registered jets, Sojitz acquired Phenix Jet Cayman SEZC as a subsidiary, making it possible to add Dassault Aviation’s Falcon 7X to its management fleet for charter on the subsidiary’s Cayman Islands Air Operator’s Certificate (Cayman AOC).
The Cayman AOC allows for long-range charter flights to be offered on aircraft such as the Falcon 7X, as well as ultra-long-range jets such as Bombardier’s Global 7500 and Gulfstream’s G650ER. By maximizing the performance and features of these long-range aircraft, Sojitz can offer charter flights that meet wide-ranging needs.
Sojitz was one of the first companies in Japan to start a private jet business back in 2002 and has been providing aircraft management services for business jets since 2005. In 2017, Sojitz went on to establish Phenix Jet International, LLC, which conducts aircraft management for U.S. registered aircraft.
